The 18V 5a-hr rechargeable battery that comes with the purchase of your Proton lasts approximately 1,000 balls or about 2 hours of continuous plays.

A full hopper can accommodate approximately 100 balls.

The Proton is 15” x 17” x 9” and is 20 lbs. Additional spec information can be found on our home page.

All regulation size junior tennis balls will work with the Proton.

A one-year (from date of receipt) warranty that covers shipping both ways for repair of any issues that may arise is included in the price of the Proton.

You may purchase your Proton with a credit card. We do not offer a payment plan option.

The hopper is the blue basket attached to your Proton where balls are loaded in.

The hopper holds about 100 balls. When using the lob accessory to practice lobs, we suggest only filling the hopper halfway.

The Proton is calibrated and built to be used with regulation-size tennis balls.

While we do not recommend a specific brand of tennis balls, we do recommend using pressureless balls as pressureless balls wear out far slower than standard pressured balls.

Standard pressured balls may also be used with the Proton.

Your lob accessory is located on top of your carousel. Remove it from the top of your carousel prior to filling the hopper with balls. You’ll know it’s there because you will be unable to fully see the hole our tennis balls will drop in.

If your Proton was purchased in 2023 or later, the lob riser is included, and the pivot foot will come pre-installed.

 If you have an earlier Proton, you may add the lob riser and pivot foot from our store.

 Once you receive your lob riser and pivot foot, this video will help with installation.

We recommend cleaning every 5,000 to 10,000 balls.  You can locate how many balls you’ve fired in the “Get Proton Data” menu of the app.

Remove the bottom cover using the 3mm hex key provided.  Clean out as much fuzz as you can reach. A vacuum may help.

Make sure to clear the fuzz away from the rear-wheel-drive belt and the optical ball sensor. Where balls drop into the Proton there is a small circuit board under the left edge (looking from behind). This can also collect fuzz over time and should be cleaned periodically.

Yes, one wheel is belt-driven and will not easily move by hand. The other spins freely.

When the Proton is on, and not actively running the front blue LED light will pulse slowly.

 When the wheels are activated, the LED will blink approximately once per second as the Proton searches for a ball.

 When a ball is loaded in the firing chamber, the LED stays on. Right before the ball launches the LED will blink rapidly.

The Proton is controlled via an Android, iPhone, or Apple Watch app. 

At this time, there is not an Android wearable app, but it is something that is on the roadmap in the distant future.

The iOS Apps (iPhone & Apple Watch) are available on the App Store.

The App is “Proton Control.”

The Apple Watch App comes with the iPhone App.  Depending on your Apple Watch preference settings, the App may not install on your watch automatically. If you do not see it, go to the Watch App on your phone, and scroll to the bottom, where you will find a list of available Watch Apps.

The Android App can be found in the Google Play store.  The App is “Proton Control.” There is not an App available for Android Wearables at this time.

Quick-Start programs are a sequence of shots already stored on the Proton that play in random order.

 Warm-up programs are forehand and then backhand repeated. Like all other programs, they have to be uploaded before they can be played.

The Custom Programs video on our Getting Started page will walk you through how to copy a built-in program/built-in shots.

We ship via UPS Ground from our factory in Santa Clara, CA. Protons ship within 24 to 48 hours of payment.

Depending on where you live and UPS Ground’s shipping schedule in your region, shipments take anywhere from 1 to 8 business days to arrive.

Our factory is closed on the weekend. If you order after 10:00 AM PDT on Friday, your Proton will ship on Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week.

At this time, we only ship Protons that will remain within the contiguous 48 United States.  This is not a matter of bearing the cost of overseas shipping. Rather, we have a lot of demand domestically.

Because a Proton is new technology (we’ve been shipping since December 2020). We want to be able to service our customers when issues arise, and they do arise.

We do not have the infrastructure to render aid through repair/service or sales to the international community. Thus, the policy of only shipping Protons that will remain within the contiguous 48 U.S.

Protons are shipped exclusively through UPS Ground.

Any accessories ordered are shipped via the U.S. Postal Service.
