General Questions

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Orders typically ship within 48 hours. You'll receive tracking information via email as soon as your shipment is on its way.

We ship from our facility in Santa Clara, CA:

  • ship via UPS Ground and usually arrive within 1 to 8 business days, depending on your location.
  • ship via USPS and usually arrive within 1 to 5 business days.

Our factory is closed on weekends. Orders placed after 10:00 AM PT on Friday will begin processing on Monday and typically ship Tuesday or Wednesday.

What warranty comes with the Proton and Electron?

Both the Proton and Electron include a one-year warranty from the date of delivery. If a warranty issue arises, we’ll cover shipping both ways for verified repairs within the contiguous U.S.

Customers who purchase a machine and then ship it outside the contiguous U.S. do so at their own risk. In these cases, the warranty is void and all shipping costs related to repair or service are the customer’s responsibility.

An optional extended warranty is also available for purchase during checkout.

What accessories are included with purchase?

The following items are included with your purchase and do not need to be purchased separately.

What kind of balls should I use?

The Proton is calibrated and built to be used with regulation-size tennis balls.

While we do not recommend a specific brand of tennis balls, we do recommend using pressureless balls as pressureless balls wear out far slower than standard pressured balls.

Standard pressured balls may also be used with the Proton.

How many balls does the hopper hold?

A full hopper can accommodate approximately 100 balls.

Can I use junior tennis balls with the Proton?

All regulation size junior tennis balls will work with the Proton.

The Proton & Electron

The App

The Proton Control app is available for iPhone, Apple Watch, and Android devices.

  • Download from the App Store. The Apple Watch app is included with the iPhone app, but may not install automatically depending on your settings. If you don’t see it, open the Watch app on your iPhone, scroll down, and install Proton Control from the list of available watch apps.
  • Download from the Google Play Store.

An Android wearable version is currently in development and expected by the end of 2025.

Where is my lob accessory and how do I install it?

The lob riser is stored on top of your machine’s carousel. Be sure to remove it before filling the hopper, or you won’t be able to see the ball drop hole clearly.

  • Proton in 2023 or later, the lob riser is included and the pivot foot comes pre-installed.
  • Electron also comes with a lob riser.

How long does the battery last?

The 18V 5a-hr rechargeable battery that comes with the purchase of your Proton lasts approximately 1,000 balls or about 2 hours of continuous plays.

Of the two back wheels one spins and one doesn’t. Is that normal?

Yes, one wheel is belt-driven and will not easily move by hand. The other spins freely.
